Multi Agency Safeguarding Arrangements

The Bury Safeguarding Partnership is made up of organisations that work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people and their families and adults in Bury.

The work is led by the Bury Safeguarding Children Partnership and the Bury Safeguarding Adults Board.

In relation to children, young people and their families, there are specific multi-agency safeguarding arrangements in place. Please view the full details of the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Arrangements below.

The Bury Safeguarding Children Partnership has agreed its priorities for 2024/2025 which are:

  • Neglect
  • Keeping Babies Safe
  • Child Sexual Abuse
  • Implementing Working Together 2023

You can also view the priorities and business plan below.

Working Together to Safeguarding Children (2023) outlines the requirement for Local Safeguarding Partnerships to engage with independent scrutiny.

"The role of independent scrutiny is to provide assurance in judging the effectiveness of multi-agency arrangements to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children in a local area, including arrangements to identify and review serious child safeguarding cases".

Bury has adopted a multi-layered scrutiny model to ensure that it is objective, acts as a constructive critical friend and promotes reflection to drive continuous improvement. You can view our scrutiny model below:
