BISP Multi-Agency Safeguarding Training Courses
We welcome bookings on all our training courses from any staff, volunteers or managers working with children and families in Bury. Unless otherwise stated, if the agency you work for contributes to the BISP budget or is a third sector organisation providing a service to children and families in Bury, the courses are free of charge. During the Covid pandemic all virtual training courses have been offered free of charge for all agencies. The charges for external private organisations will be re-introduced from April 2021.
You are welcome to choose to attend any course at any time. Please note that we do not run "refresher" courses. When you are due to update your safeguarding training, we recommend that you choose a different course to enhance your knowledge.
For guidance, we have suggested the training routes below.
Recommended training routes
For staff who work regularly with children and young people
- Single Agency Safeguarding Course - usually a 6 hour course. If your agency does not provide this, you can source this independently: and
- Any multi-agency course relevant to your workload/interest.
For Designated Officers or Persons for Safeguarding
- Single Agency Safeguarding Course - usually a 6 hour course. If your agency does not provide this, you can source this independently: and
- 2 additional multi-agency safeguarding courses relevant to your workload or interest
For managers
- Single Agency Safeguarding Course - usually a 6 hour course. If your agency does not provide this, you can source this independently: and
- Any multi-agency course relevant to your workload or interest
- Managing Allegations against those who work with children course
- Safer Recruitment course
